A very special PEHA meeting this evening where Mayor Palazzolo and fellow Alderman Jon McCreery, Sherrie Hicks & Brian Ueleke presented a Proclamation that May 9th 2023 was declared Billy Brown Day. Thank you Alderman Hicks for nominating the hardest working & beloved Poplar Estates resident!

Congratulations to Marty & John Wheeler of 1620 Brookside for being selected as PEHA Yard of the Month. Thank you for all of your years of beautifying Poplar Estates with your wonderful mailbox garden, hosta garden and fairy house gazebo.

Another great City of Germantown Neighborhood Summit event by the Germantown Preservation Committee last night at The Great Hall. Wonderful presentations by the Germantown Police Department on situational awareness & the Neighborhood Traffic Task Force introduction of the “Slow Down, G’town!” campaign, aimed at slowing traffic on residential streets.

A beautiful morning for a pancake breakfast & egg hunt at Poplar Estates Park with over 125 residents young & old in attendance!

Thank you to our event cooks Billy Brown, Chris & Lisa Vanelli & Brian Menius. Huge thanks to Marty Houston & Billy for stuffing over 800 eggs along with the egg hunt coordinator extraordinaire Alana Heaton & her fantastic crew.

Congratulations to Burt & Lorraine Wolf of 1351 Winterberry Cove for being selected PEHA Yard of the Month. One always have to love the spring perennials this time of the year!

This week the PEHA Board & Committee Members gathered together to celebrate & thank Waynette Besser for her 12+ years of dedication serving as our Secrertary & Newsletter extraordinare. All Poplar Estates thanks you and we wish you the best in your new adventures being closer to your son, daugther-in-law and new grand baby!

Great night at the Poplar Estates 2023 chili cook off. We had 13 chili entrees in the competition and over 50 people in attendance.

Congratulations to Lisa Cantor! Her chili won first place and she received a certificate for a free smoked ham from PEHA. We would also like to thank Biggby Coffee & Vanelli's Deli for gift certificates for the other prize winners.

Mr. Billy Brown was honored with a lifetime service award from the Poplar Estates Homeowners Association. “In appreciation of your outstanding contributions to our neighborhood and unending involvement in the association.“

Finally, thank you to our chili judges Alderman Sanders, our Community Engagement Coordinator Erinn Figg and Inspector Godwin plus our guest speaker Judge Patterson this evening.\

Congratulations to Graham & Brittany Murray of 1390 Corsica Cove as being selected for Yard of the Month in December. Thank you for all of your time in planning & installing your holiday display that brings such joy to Poplar Estates, along with your neighbors this holiday season. You will notice a couple of familiar holiday figures that once graced the Poplar Estates front entry for decades that Graham has restored and continues to keep the tradition going!
